BMW has just introduced its new project. It is either a new engine or a new model, but an idea that will take place over the next year and that directly relates to electric vehicles. This is the BMW Light & Charge; a new low-power lamp also introduces a recharging station for vehicles.
The truth is that the idea is not revolutionary, it probably install recharging posts with lanterns is one of the most sensible ideas there. The network is already built and just need to adjust your unit. In this case, the street lighting is present, and is intended to change the lamps for this dual purpose.
BMW Light & Charge streetlight recharging stations for electric
BMW has just introduced its BMW Light & Charge, a project that will jump to the streets next year in the city of Munich. The agreement has ensured that the public lighting is replaced as part of a pilot project, these new charging stations to study its feasibility and evolve the idea.
The project is quite simple. Instead of a conventional lamp, a similar structure thereof is installed, but with a recharging station for electric vehicles built. In turn, the inefficient ones or bright LEDs that illuminate the path with lower power consumption and durability lighting replaced.
The intention of BMW Light & Charge is in addition to improving the efficiency of public lighting, increase the amount and availability of charging stations in cities, something that seems clear if we simply went outside and count how many lamps could be replaced by this new system. The next 2015 will be launched and results for, if it works, part of the renewal of street lighting and extend the charging network will be discussed.
